When Olivia Wilde and Kim Kardashian went to New York to celebrate their new baby, they had a baby guest. But after the baby was born, she said she wanted to leave it in this world with her family.
Wilde, who was celebrating her 35th birthday, and Kardashian, who was celebrating her 24th, spent the day with the newborn, whom they named North, at their baby-themed party at Babies R Us, an American chain of baby stores known for selling diapers, formula, wipes and baby clothes.
“I wanted the baby to live with all of my people and with the people who love me and are going to love him,” Wilde said. But she added that her daughter, whom she called “our girl,” will “live on, hopefully, in a world that’s better than the one I’ve grown up in.”
She wrote on social media that she wanted to make the baby’s room as fun and colorful as her own by painting one of her favorite colors with liquid-pen paint, which she said was a “new kind of paint.”
“I also wanted to give her something fun to open her gift with and show her a little bit of the outside world and just have fun,” Wilde wrote, adding that she wanted to decorate the bedroom for the baby girl with pillows and blankets as well as a few toys they picked up at a baby store.
She shared a shot of the room with the caption, “When you grow up you’ll want to decorate a room with fun colors and you’ll want to add an old pair of black shoes and a purple jacket. #happybirthday #north.”
