Meghan Markle says ‘difficult’ is code for the ‘b-word’
On Friday, the royal was in the U.K. for the royal wedding and will be a guest of honor at the G20 summit, where she’s scheduled to meet world leaders.
She made it clear to friends on Friday that she does not feel like a Queen.
“A Queen, as you well know, is not just someone dressed in white. And I am definitely not one,” she told friends at a gala for The Royal Foundation.
“I’m a normal human being. I am a wife and a mother, I am a daughter from birth to a grown man. My mother was an extraordinary person. A mother has a right to be a Queen,” she said.
“But a Queen is more than just a figurehead. A Queen is someone who goes out, who sacrifices, who stands with a broken heart and makes decisions.”
One of those decisions: To give up royal duties to spend more time with her Prince Harry.
She is now reportedly considering the idea, but sources have told CNN that the prince has already said he doesn’t want her to take on those responsibilities.

In a letter to the Queen, Prince Harry said Meghan has “made herself a wonderful, supportive, and loving wife” and “we are so happy to have found someone who is as committed to our family and our country as we are.”
The couple said in their letter that they “take very seriously the responsibilities of monarchy,” and the couple said they could not “imagine a world where she doesn’t play a part in our monarchy.”
“A world where she isn’t the Queen of Meghan Markle and Meghan, or the Duchess of Sussex,” they wrote.
The couple, who have been dating for six months after splitting in January, announced their official relationship in a joint statement released Friday.
Meghan said she would “love to spend more time with my prince, Harry — as long as my schedule doesn’t get in the way.”
